Email marketing platforms compared for solo operators and small teams: free tiers, pricing as your list grows, and automation.

How to choose

If you are starting a newsletter, Kit's free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited sends, the largest free tier of the tools we compared. GetResponse offers unlimited sends at a low entry price, but its Starter plan includes only one automation workflow. Brevo charges by emails sent rather than contacts, which suits a big list you email rarely.

Most of these tools list prices in USD, and we show each price in the currency the vendor lists. Before you send, know the rules where your subscribers live: Canada's CASL generally requires consent before your first commercial email, while the US CAN-SPAM Act does not.
